Game Goal

Merge Cube is a number merging puzzle that will challenge you like never before.

The goal of the game is simple: score more points than your opponent to win!

Basic Rules:

• Connect 3 or more tiles of the same number to make a single higher number tile.

• Every match has a Goal Number, create a tile of that number to end the match.

• Watch out for monsters and other obstacles that get in your way.

• Each match has a 3 minute time limit.

Fairness

Each match of Merge Cube is played against another player to see who can get the highest score.

• You are matched against players of similar skill, but you may not be playing at the same time.

• Both players get the same tiles in the same order.

• Initial board layout is random but is the same for both players.

How To Play

Reaching the Goal:

• Tap or Drag the bottom tiles in any order to put them on the board.

• Connect three of the same tile to make a single higher one.

• The new tile will appear in the same space as the last tile placed.

• Every match has a goal of either 7, 8, or 10, displayed at the top.

• Reaching the goal will net you a massive bonus and end the game.

Spawning Tiles:

• Tiles spawn based on the highest tile on the board minus three.

• The game will always spawn the lowest tile on the board.

Monsters:

• Monsters move around and get in the way.

• Surround them to make Special Tiles.

• There are two different monsters:

  • Blop (purple) wanders and can be trapped.

  • Bleep (green) jumps and can’t be trapped.

  • You must use bombs to take down Bleep.

• Combine the Special Tiles for a Mega Bonus.

Powerups:

• Use Bombs to destroy any tile.

• Drop bombs on an empty square to create a Special Tile.

• Use Stars to match any tile.

• Dropping a star on an empty square makes a Bonus Coin.

Scoring

Merge Cube scores vary depending on which victory you chose to go for, good scores range between 20,000 and 30,000. Scores over 30,000 are amazing!

There are two sources of points in Merge Cube:

1. Game Score 

2. Time Bonus

Many things factor into your Game Score.

Tile Scoring:

• You score points for placing tiles, this is called Tile Scoring.

• Placing tiles will score 10x the number on the tile, e.g. #3 tile = +30 points.

• Open up greater values to score more points from tile scoring.

Star Coins:

• Stars placed by themselves will spawn bonus coins.

• Bonus coins = +100 points.

• Combine 3 bonus coins to make a Coin Pouch worth +3000 points.

Goal Tile:

• Combine tiles to reach the Goal Tile worth +10000 points.

Monster Wins:

• Combine special Monster Tiles to get a Monster Victory.

• Monster Victory = +15000 points.

Time Bonus:

• +10 points per second remaining when you finish.

• Don’t rush! The points awarded for getting either victory greatly outweigh the time bonus.

 

Strategy

• Always start by taking a good look at the game board. Avoid the places that will get tiles stuck.

• Depending on the map layout, decide early if you will pursue the monster victory or not.

• If you have time, use power ups for extra score bonuses.

• If you’re stuck, use power ups to quickly beat stages.

• Don’t rush! A bad move could jeopardize your entire board layout.

• If you do mess up, make use of the undo button.
