Fairness

Each game of Mixmaster Showdown is played against another player to see who can get the highest score.

  • You are matched against players of similar skill, but you may not be playing at the same time.

  • Both players get the same board shape with the same Objectives.

  • Placement of Tiles is randomized each match but is the same for both players.

Power-ups

Power-ups appear in the same space as the Tile moved to create them, so think carefully about where you want the Power-up to appear.

Lightning Bolt:

  • Match 4 in a row.

  • Clears a row or column.

  • Spawns facing a random direction.

  • Awards +50 points.

  • Color matches the Tiles used to create it.

Power-up Combos

Two adjacent Power-ups can be combined to make a Power-up Combo. The Power-up Combo appears in the same space as the Power-up tapped to create it.

  • Combine two Lightning Bolts.

Scoring

Great scores for Mixmaster Showdown are generally above 10,000 points. If you can score over 20,000 points, you're amazing!

There are three sources of points in Mixmaster Showdown:

  1. Base Score

  2. Goal Bonus

  3. Move Bonus

Base Score:

  • Earned by matching Tiles and using Power-ups.

  • Tile matches are worth between +10 and +50 points, depending on the number of Tiles matched.

  • Power-ups are worth between +50 and +2000 points or more!

Goal Bonus:

  • +4,000 points awarded for clearing all of the Objectives from the board.

Move Bonus:

  • +100 points awarded for each Move remaining at the end of the match.

Strategy

Mixmaster Showdown is designed to discourage scrubbing moves quickly and solely clearing the goals. To get a high score, follow these steps:

  1. Clear most of the goals in as few moves and using as many Power-ups as possible.

  2. Make as many Power-ups as possible with the Moves and Time remaining.

  3. Do not clear the final Objectives until you’re almost out of Time or Moves.

Also consider:

  • To get a max score you must know how to work the board, and how to make and combine Power-ups efficiently.

  • There should always be a constant tension between “can I complete the goal?” and “can I farm more Power-ups?”.

  • You should always be doing some mental math to figure out if you can make enough Power-ups so that each remaining move is worth more than 100 points each.

You can also play cash games to watch replays and learn your opponent's strategies.

Finally, practice makes perfect! Mixmaster Showdown is a game of skill; the better you are, the more you win.
