Pyramid Solitaire Cube Game Rules

Game Goal

Pyramid Solitaire Cube is a solitaire classic with a competitive twist.

The goal of the game is simple: score more points than your opponent to win!

Basic Rules:

  • Remove all cards from the Table.

  • Remove cards by making pairs that add up to 13.

  • Pairs can be made from the Table and from the Draw pile.

  • Use the Free Cell to hold cards for later use.

  • Each match has a 4 minute time limit.

Fairness

Each match of Pyramid Solitaire Cube is played against another player to see who can get the highest score.

  • You are matched against players of similar skill, but you may not be playing at the same time.

  • Both players play the same shuffle. All cards are in the same order.

  • Solve more cards and do it faster than your opponent to win!

How To Play

Table & Draw Piles:

  • The Table cards are the cards in the pyramid.

  • The Draw pile sits below the Table.

  • You can recycle the Draw pile as many times as needed.

  • Each recycle deducts points, unless you haven’t removed any cards from the Table.

Making Pairs:

  • Remove cards from the Table by making pairs that add up to 13.

  • Pairs can be made from cards on the Table, the Draw pile, and the Free Cell.

  • Kings count as 13 and can be removed without making a pair.

  • Queens count as 12, Jacks count as 11, and Aces count as 1.

Free Cell:

  • Any card from the Table or Draw Pile can be moved to the Free Cell.

  • There are many uses for the Free Cell, see how many you can find!

Finishing Early:

  • Not all decks can be solved!

  • If there are no more moves, hit Pause and End Game.

  • Recognizing when there are no more moves before your opponent is often the difference between victory and defeat.

Scoring

Pyramid Solitaire Cube scores vary based on the arrangement of cards on the Table and in the Draw pile. Great scores are over 3,000 points and if you can score over 4,000 points you’re amazing!

There are three sources of points in Pyramid Solitaire Cube:

  1. Base Score

  2. Card Bonus

  3. Time Bonus

Base Score:

  • Earned for each pair made.

  • Point value is based on where the cards in the pair originated from:

    • +150 points if both cards (or King) are from the Table.

    • +100 points if one card is from the Table and the other from the Draw pile.

    • +50 points if both cards (or King) are from the Draw pile.

  • Cards in the Free Cell count as being from their original location.

Card Bonus:

  • +50 points for each card remaining in the Draw pile if all Table cards are removed.

  • Scales down based on how many cards remain on the Table (removed cards / 28).

Time Bonus:

  • +4 points per second remaining when you finish.

  • This value scales down at the same rate as the Card Bonus above.

Strategy

To ensure victory over your opponent all you have to do is solve more cards faster than they do!

Here are some tips and tricks to help you succeed:

  • Always solve as many cards as possible before ending the match.

  • Always try to pair Table cards with other Table cards since they score more points.

  • Try to leave Draw cards in the Draw pile.

    • Pairs made from the Draw pile score 50 points but are worth 100 points at the end of the match.

  • Plan ahead and keep cards in the Free Cell that you’ll need later.

  • If the Free Cell is open, Table cards can be paired with other Table cards underneath them.

You can also play cash games to watch replays and learn your opponent's strategies.

Finally, practice makes perfect! Pyramid Solitaire Cube is a game of skill; the better you are, the more you win.
